The list of grants and funding available to Australian events and festivals is updated as of January 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Amid some of the hardest times for festivals and events in Australia, a range of measures are being rolled out nationwide to support the industry to bolster pre-existing funding programs already in place.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NSW government has <a href=\"https:\/\/themusicnetwork.com\/festivals-crisis-nsw-govt-announces-major-reforms-financial-support\/?utm_source=The+Music+Network+Observer&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=%5B20+Sep%2C+2024%5D+The+Music+Network&amp;mc_cid=0250452e79&amp;mc_eid=2c7089dcfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced emergency funding and a series of reforms<\/a> to reduce pressure on events and a <a href=\"https:\/\/creative.vic.gov.au\/news\/2025\/powering-up-victorias-world-famous-live-music-industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>$3.9m funding boost to the live music industry in Victoria<\/strong><\/a>, further evidence that the industry has government attention, but many events are still teetering on the edge of cancellation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The recent publication of <a href=\"https:\/\/creative.gov.au\/advocacy-and-research\/soundcheck-insights-into-australias-music-festival-sector\/?mc_cid=0250452e79&amp;mc_eid=2c7089dcfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SoundCheck 2, a 2024 update on a survey of festival organisers,<\/a> confirms festivals are under immense pressure from rising costs coupled with changing ticket-buying behaviour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\" id=\"yui_3_17_2_1_1781070956143_115\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"523\" src=\"https:\/\/hostingnucleo.com\/bettercup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https___www.lochhart.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hostingnucleo.com\/bettercup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https___www.lochhart.webp 1000w, https:\/\/hostingnucleo.com\/bettercup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https___www.lochhart-300x157.webp 300w, https:\/\/hostingnucleo.com\/bettercup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https___www.lochhart-768x402.webp 768w, https:\/\/hostingnucleo.com\/bettercup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/https___www.lochhart-600x314.webp 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lochhart.com\/about\"><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The survey reported not-for-profit festivals have a heavy reliance on grants for survival, with other income including grants making up 15 &#8211; 23% of total revenue. My biggest tip is to be very specific about what the funding will achieve and why the funding is essential. Use clear, direct language, and support every claim with numbers and impact projections. Grants are competitive, but if you can show assessors that your project is well-planned and impactful &#8212; you\u2019re halfway there!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p artists and live music workers, strengthen local economies and connect communities across metropolitan and regional Victoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Funding: <\/strong>Up Grants &#8211; Live Music Events and All Ages Programming\u200b<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This funding program supports contemporary music events and festivals to deliver new programming and activities that builds audiences, promotes NSW music, supports local music collaboration and provides opportunities for community connection through music. <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Grant amount: <\/strong>Up to $100,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funding is available for music businesses and industry professionals to generate new activity through the delivery of contemporary music events and festivals.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contemporary music events and festivals must:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be presented in NSW<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be majority Australian owned&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>program new and original contemporary music&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a maximum capacity of 15,000 OR have a primary focus of First Nations cultural priorities OR be based in regional NSW or Western Sydney<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>collaborate with local venues and community organisations to deliver new activity that supports growth in audiences&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>provide opportunities for local community connection&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>predominantly program local music artists and acts&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>program artists from NSW Government priority groups.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p
